Band Students and Parents -

As you talk with friends, family and neighbors about purchasing items for the Anthony Wayne Band Boosters Fruit Sale, you may find that some people would prefer to order online instead of giving you their order and paying you directly.

There are several options for friends, family and neighbors who want to order online.

Shipping to out-of-town family and friends

People who live too far away for you to deliver their order to them can place an order with Pee Jay’s or Club’s Choice online. They need to pay with a credit/debit card and have it shipped anywhere in the United States. You will still get credit for making the sale.

However, the products that people can order online and have shipped are different than what you have in your brochures for people to order directly from you.

For Pee Jay’s Fresh Fruit, only “Gift Shipping Items” can be ordered online and shipped. To do this, tell your customers to:

  • Go to freshfruitorder.org/AWBBfruitsale and select “We Now Offer Gift Shipping Items”. They will be able to choose from 9 different “Gift Boxes.”
  • After they enter in the quantities they want and select “Submit Order”, they should enter your name as the “Member’s Name” in the Shopping Cart.
  • To pay, they can create an account but they will probably prefer to enter their payment information with a one-time “Guest Checkout”. Pee Jay’s accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.

For Club’s Choice, frozen food cannot be ordered online, but people can select several categories of items that we are not selling directly, such as wrapping paper, candles, and holiday items. These items will be shipped to the customer. To do this, tell your customers to:

  • Go to shop.clubschoicefundraising.com and browse the many categories of items, selecting “Add to cart” for whatever they want to purchase.
  • When they are done shopping, they should select “Checkout” to review their order. Under the list of items, there is a section “School & Student Information.” They should enter in your name as the “Student Name” and ANTH11 as the “School Code.”
  • After they enter in their address and select “Continue”, they should see a message confirming their support of the Band Boosters.
  • The last step is entering their payment information. Club’s Choice accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.

So this year, with these online plus shipping options, be sure to contact friends and family that live farther away. They can still support you and the AW Band.

Pay by credit card, student delivery

For people who live in the area but prefer to pay by credit card instead of giving you cash or a check, they can order Pee Jay’s fruit online (only). To do this, tell your customers to:

  • Go to freshfruitorder.org/AWBBfruitsale and select from the “Standard Products” list. This list matches what is in your Pee Jay’s brochure. The prices are the same.

For online “Standard Products” purchases, you will still need to pick up the order in December and deliver it yourself.

Cannot order online

There is no way to order Club’s Choice frozen food or Schmidt Brothers Poinsettias online. If people want those products, they must place an order with you and you will need to pick it up and deliver it in December.

If you have any questions about online ordering, or other questions about the Fruit Sale, contact the co-chairs.

We have had a great start to the year. Just a couple of reminders and events to make note of.

On Thursday our uniform moms will be coming in to fit 7th grade students with band polos. The cost is $13 (checks can be made out to AWBB or Anthony Wayne Band Boosters.) We will wear these shirts at all of our performances.
8th graders who need another shirt can obtain one then also.

Entertainment book turn in is tomorrow from 4:30-7:30 at the HS! Thank you for all of your hard work. This supports our program in such a huge way.

Our October 12th football game is quickly approaching. We will have 2 after school practices to prepare. They will be on Tuesday and Thursday of that week (October 9th and 11th) from 3 until 3:45. Students will play at half time on Friday with the HS band and play with them during 4th quarter of the game.

We are still working out details about the lock in.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

REMINDER TO ALL BAND PARENTS AND STUDENTS!

The Entertainment Book sale ends next Tuesday September 25th. All parents or students should report to the High School Cafeteria on Tues, Sept 25th, to turn in your money that you collected and to pick up the books you sold which you will then deliver to your customers.

If for some reason you did not sell any books you MUST still return your sample book to the cafeteria that night. There will be band booster volunteers at the high school cafeteria from 4:30 -7:30 pm that evening to collect money and to give you your books.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS THE ONLY TIME THAT YOU CAN TURN IN YOUR MONEY AND COLLECT YOUR BOOKS!!!

You should enter the high school cafeteria behind the school in the Senior Commons section which is across from the baseball fields. This is the same location you have dropped off desserts in the past for our annual Chicken BBQ.

Another reminder! All checks should be made payable to AWBB.

We also want to remind you that we have prizes for top sellers and if you sold (3) or more books you will automatically be entered into a cash drawing for $50!!! Top prize this year is a $150 gift card to the place of your choice!

I want to thank all of you for helping support this fundraiser!

The Entertainment Book Fundraiser started about a week ago.  Your child should have come home with an Entertainment Book and a letter from the Band Boosters that gives the details of the sale. The book is valued at $30 so each student is responsible for the book.    We have approximately (2) weeks left of our sale so we  want to remind everyone to try to sell at least one book if not more!

If your child sells (3) or more books they will be entered in a $50 cash drawing…two drawings for each school so six in all!  We also have some great prizes to give to the top sellers with a $150 top prize!

The Entertainment Book Sale is an integral part of our band fundraising.  The funds raised help with the  purchase instruments, prizes, lunches, and other activities for your student.  On behalf of the Anthony Wayne Band Boosters we would like to thank you for your  support in helping raise money by selling these books.

Thank you!

p.s.  We will need volunteers for the Entertainment Sale Turn In Night on  Tuesday Sept 25th.  It is from 4:00 — 8:00 pm in the high school senior commons section of the cafeteria.  Please contact Ellen VerStraete  to let us know if you can volunteer your time.

For the 16th consecutive year; Anthony Wayne Band Boosters will be sponsoring its fall fundraiser: the Entertainment Book Sale. The fundraiser includes all three schools, from beginning year 5th grade students through 12th grade band students.

This year’s Entertainment campaign will kick off on Wednesday, August 29th through Friday Aug 31st.

The sale will run for approximately 3 weeks with an order turn in date of Tuesday September 25, 2012.

During the sale, each student will receive one Entertainment Book valued at $30. You are responsible for purchasing, selling, or returning this book in good condition. The book you will be given will be your sample book that each student will use to show to prospective customers during the three week fundraising period.

Each student will have a “Turn-In Envelope” which will be used to take orders and collect money. All money should be collected when orders are taken! If you need additional envelopes please see your band instructor as they will have extra ones available.

All envelopes with book orders and money are to be turned in on Tuesday September 25th in the High School Cafeteria from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

This is the only day you can turn in your money and receive books so put Tuesday September 25th on your calendar! At that time you will receive the Entertainment books you’ve taken orders and collected money for.

Once you receive your books you can then deliver them to your customers. You must also turn in your sample book if you have not sold it on this date as it must be returned to the Entertainment Company. If your sample book is returned damaged you will be responsible for the cost of the book which is $30, so please take extreme care with your book!

As you are taking orders for your book, please let your customer know that checks and cash are both accepted. Checks should be made payable to AWBB.

The Entertainment Discount Book is available for almost any city. Out of Town books are priced differently for each city so check the insert for the cost. There will be a separate order form in your Entertainment Kit for out of town orders. You can also purchase books on line at Entertainment’s website. Please see the attached insert in your kit for details. The Anthony Wayne group I.D. for purchasing on line is #369322.

As an incentive for selling, the Anthony Wayne Band Boosters and the Entertainment Company, will be giving away prizes totaling over $1,100! There will also be (6) $50 cash drawings; two for each school where students selling (3) or more books will be automatically entered to win. In addition to the drawings, at the end of the sale, there will be prizes awarded to the top sellers with the overall top seller receiving a $150 gift card!

The Entertainment Book has many great coupons for local stores and restaurants, and has become one of the Anthony Wayne Band’s most successful fundraisers. It represents a significant amount of the band booster’s budget and provides additional funds used for trips, awards, the purchase of instruments, band uniforms, and other items.

On behalf of the Anthony Wayne Band Boosters, we would like to thank you for supporting this important fundraiser. We appreciate your dedication and support of the Anthony Wayne Marching Generals and look forward to a successful year!

For questions or comments, use the Entertainment Books contact form.

Good Luck Selling!

Dear Incoming JH Band Students/Parents,

We are excited to have you continuing on in our band program. I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know what to expect from the first 2 days of school instrument wise.

  • Thursday (first day of school): we will be handing out a student hand book and taking attendance. This should take a majority of the period.
  • Friday: we will go over that handbook, talk about concert dates, rules, expectations, grading etc. Students will have to bring this home and have it signed by a parent and return it by a noted date.

Students will not have to bring their instruments for playing until Monday, August 27th. Students will be assigned a folder and folder slot. They should bring their instrument and Essential Elements Book 2. Percussionists should bring that book and their snare sticks. They will NOT have to bring their kits.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

As a reminder, our awards night is tomorrow, Tuesday May 22nd at 7pm in the JH cafeteria.

Please plan on attending as I will be presenting some special information about a software program we will be piloting next year in 8th grade and hopefully rolling out to the rest of the band program soon after.

After we pass out awards I will do a short presentation and demonstration of the smart music software.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
