The upcoming 2012 holiday concert schedule:

  • Wednesday, December 12: Junior High, 7pm
  • Thursday, December 13: High School, 7:30pm
  • Monday, December 17: Middle school, 7pm

All concerts are in the High School Auditorium. The concerts are open to the public, so invite family and friends to celebrate the holidays with the AW bands.

Other appearances by AW bands this holiday season:

The Marching Generals kicked off the holiday performance season with parades in Chicago on November 17th and Lake Orion (Michigan) on December 1st.

2011-12 DVD Order Form

The annual DVD video for the 2011‐2012 school year will soon be ready for distribution.

The multiple disk DVD set covers not only the marching season, including all parades, but also includes the concert season as well.

The DVD is only available on a “pre‐order” basis. If you are interested in obtaining one or more copies of the 2011‐2012 DVD, please fill out the information in the attached form (PDF) and return this form with the appropriate fee (cash or check made payable to AWBB).

I hope everyone has had/having a good break. Band Camp is just around the corner. Attached (PDF) is a:

  • Sheet of frequently asked questions that will hopefully answer most questions you might have.
  • A calendar through the beginning of school.
  • A sample fee sheet for uniform fittings. You do not need to bring the fee sheet with you to fittings. It is included for your planning only.

Students please remember to wear tennis shoes to band camp. No flip flops or sandals.

We will see you on August 6th.

Symphonic Band at State Adjudicated Event

Congratulations to the Symphonic Band for their performance at State Adjudicated Event in North Royalton, Ohio on Saturday.

The band earned an Excellent (II) Rating.

Thanks to everyone who helped with chaperoning, uniforms, equipment, or supported us with your presence at the performance. Thanks to the students for all their hard work in preparation for the event.

Band Pictures

We will be taking the concert band pictures for the yearbook on Thursday, April 5 (the last day before break).  Students will need to bring their concert wear to school on Thursday.

This year we are offering picture packages for students who would like pictures in their concert outfits.  You are not required to purchase any pictures.

If you would like to purchase picture, a form is attached to this message (PDF).  Please bring money on picture day.

Please note: Students will not be taking section pictures; only a full band shot.  Students may choose to take individual pictures of themselves or someone else IN THE SAME BAND.  Students will not be able to take pictures with others in another band as the pictures will be taken during class.

Spring Band Banquet Invitation

Parents,

If you currently have a student in any level of concert band, you will soon be receiving in the mail an invitation to the Spring Band Banquet to be held on Sunday, May 20th at 5pm.

Please return the reservation form as soon as possible along with the payment for parents attending. The student is free as a guest of the Band Boosters.

Congratulations to all three bands on their performances at Sylvania Southview this past Friday.

All three bands received Superior (I) ratings.

Thank you to all the students for their hard work over the past months of rehearsals.

We also appreciate the family and friends who chaperoned, helped with equipment, helped with the uniforms, and supported us with your attendance at the performances.

A special thanks to Mr. Krichbaum and Mr. Hoffman for their work with rehearsals for contest.

Thanks to everyone for their combined efforts to make the best music that we can produce

Solo & Ensemble Results

Congratulations to the students who participated in the District I OMEA Solo and Ensemble Adjudicated Event. We had a total of 60 events that received 47 superior (I), 11 excellent (II), and 2 good (III) ratings. Good Job Students!
