Anthony Wayne Band Boosters are still in need of volunteers for the upcoming Chicken BBQ.

We are looking for volunteers to work at the bake sale held in conjunction with the BBQ.

The shift times for the bake sale are 1st, 2:00 – 3:30 (2 volunteers needed); 2nd, 3:30 – 5:00 (2 volunteers needed) and 3rd, 5:00 – 6:30 (2 volunteers needed.)

We also need 10 more volunteers to work the 3rd shift food line from 5:00 – 7:00.

Please consider taking a shift in order to help us raise funds to help maintain the excellent band programs we enjoy.

It’s almost Chicken BBQ time again!

Please help spread the word by printing and distributing the flyer (PDF) to places you frequent – work, church, stores, your hair salon, etc.

You can also put an event or announcement on Facebook (or ask your band student to do it!).

The more people who know about it, the more people who will come!

Now that the holidays are over and the AW showing @ solo & ensemble was so awesome (GREAT JOB!!!) it’s time to look forward to spring, chicken BBQ and ELECTIONS!!!! That’s right; it’s time to choose our booster leadership for the next year.

If you are interested in running for Vice President or Secretary, please let me know, or any of the booster officers. If you would like to know more about the jobs, please contact any one of us who’ve been there & done that. Really, the jobs are not difficult and the rewards are great. See you at the next booster meeting on February 4 @ 7:00 in the band room.

People from AWBB will be available to sell or place orders for Band Clothing and assessories just in time for your last minute gift giving needs at the Christmas concerts coming up soon:

The upcoming 2012 holiday concert schedule:

  • Wednesday, December 12: Junior High, 7pm
  • Thursday, December 13: High School, 7:30pm
  • Monday, December 17: Middle school, 7pm

All concerts are in the High School Auditorium. The concerts are open to the public, so invite family and friends to celebrate the holidays with the AW bands.

Other appearances by AW bands this holiday season:

The Marching Generals kicked off the holiday performance season with parades in Chicago on November 17th and Lake Orion (Michigan) on December 1st.

Fruit Sale begins week of October 8, 2012.

All band students will be receiving their Fruit Sale envelopes in school during band class this week. In the envelope, you will find the flyers and order forms for our 3 vendors.

  • Pee Jay’s Fresh Fruit: All the items with prices in the “Health Choice Pee Jay’s Fresh Fruit” brochure are available this year!
  • Club’s Choice: See “The Best of Club’s Choice” frozen food brochure and be sure to check out the new “Mixes to Fix” dry mixes to make delicious food!
  • Schmidt Brothers Poinsettias: Flowers will be available again in colors of Red, White or Marble, with pot sizes of 4 1/2, 6 1/2 or 8 1/2 inches.

Top-seller prizes

  • $100 cash to top seller
  • Next 4 top sellers in each school will receive $50, $35, $20 and $15 cash.

Other prizes

  • Every student who sells 1 item or more from any vendor will receive a package of Skittles.
  • Every student who sells over $100 will get a coupon for free bread sticks.

Club’s Choice only prizes

Every student who sells

  • 12 items – receive an “Anthony Wayne Marching Generals” color felt pennant, and be entered to win one of four “Giant” rice krispy treats.
  • 18 items – and receive all the above, plus an “Anthony Wayne Marching Generals” draw string backpack, plus have your name entered to win a Kindle Fire!
  • 36 items – and receive all the above, plus a kaleidoscope laser pointer.

Dates to Remember

Order Turn In:

  • Thursday, November 1, 4:00 – 8:30 pm in High School Band Room
  • 2nd Option for Fallen Timbers Students ONLY: Wednesday, October 31 and Thursday, November 1; students may turn in envelope and money to Home Room Teacher during 1st period.

Order Pick Up:

  • Saturday, December 8, 9:00 am – 12 noon in High School Cafeteria
  • Deliver to customers within 24 hours.

CHICAGO HOLIDAY BUS TRIP

Fundraiser: All proceeds to benefit Anthony Wayne Spirit of Giving

Come see the Anthony Wayne Marching Generals in the Chicago Holiday Light Parade!

Day bus trip to Chicago planned for Nov.17th, 2012. Come shop, eat, enjoy area sites, and proudly watch the Anthony Wayne Marching Generals in the Holiday Light Parade.

We leave at 6:30am from Waterville Kroger, and leave Chicago around 8:00pm for home. The cost is $50.00 per person and all proceeds will go to the Anthony Wayne Spirit of Giving that helps families in our community.

REGISTER TODAY: Cost is $50 per person and seats will be filled on a first come first serve basis limited to the first 56 paid responses. NO REFUNDS after October 12, 2012. All reservations need to be in by October 12, 2012.
