Here are some activities coming up for the band students.
Friday, April 27
PIZZA REWARD PARTY (only for students who qualified 3rd grading period). The list is in the band room and includes both 5th and 6th graders who met the requirements.
2:40 – 3:30pm in FT Bandroom. Students will receive a reminder slip at school.
Parents should plan to pick up their son or daughter at 3:30 in front of F.T.
Saturday, May 12
CHICKEN BARBECUE CONCERT. . .this is an annual event for all band students.
6TH GRADERS report to HS Band room at 4:30pm with instrument, music, blue band T shirt and blue jeans. They perform at 5:00pm in the Aux. Gym and are done by 5:30pm.
5TH GRADERS report to HS Band room at 5:30pm with instrument, music, blue band T shirt and blue jeans. They perform at 6:00pm in the Aux. Gym and are done by 6:30pm.
Parents, family and friends are cordially invited to attend this event which includes: the District Art Show, performances by other bands (including the HS Jazz Band, the JH Jazz Band, the 7th and 8th Grade Bands, and the HS Concert Bands), and, a delicious Chicken dinner available for carry out or dine-in for $9. All proceeds support the Anthony Wayne Bands.
All FT band students are required to attend. If conflicts can not be resolved, please send in a note signed by the parents explaining why the student will be absent. A make-up project will then be assigned.
Monday, May 7th
DEMONSTRATION CONCERT (6TH GRADE BAND ONLY), 9:15am in HS Auditorium.
Students will need instrument, music, and blue band T shirt and jeans.
This concert is for the 4th grade students in our district and is during the day. 6th graders will be excused from class to perform.
Tuesday, May 29th
FT BAND AWARDS NIGHT, 6:30pm in the FT Cafeteria. This event includes both 5th and 6th grade band students. Families are asked to bring a dessert to share. All students will be recognized for their accomplishments this year.
Attendance is not required but encouraged. There is no dress requirement and the students will not be performing on their instruments.
As we approach the end of the school year, I want to again thank you for supporting our band and music programs. The students have done a great job this year and have provided ups with many memorable performances. If you have questions regarding any of these upcoming events, please contact me.
